MATTEO RIZZO

Veronese, born in 1984, Matteo Rizzo is today at the helm of Desco, his family’s restaurant in the historical center of Verona. His passion for cooking began at an early age, thanks to his father, Elia Rizzo, who passed on to the child not only the basic techniques of the profession, but his passion as well. Matteo’s curiosity led him across the world, training under Giorgio Locatelli in London and Piero Selvaggio in Los Angeles, and then on to numerous other experiences in the field of catering and management. In his restaurant, there in the heart of Verona, he loves to propose vegetarian dishes, both for nutritional reasons as well as with a eye towards safeguarding the environment. Today, Matteo Rizzo, considers himself a 360° restaurateur, rather than just a “simple” cook.
